Let's Get Married!

Happy New Year! It’s currently engagement season!

How to Choose Your 2023 Wedding Venue:

Our biggest tips are budget, accessibility and working with people that understand your vision. Do you understand the rental agreement? When is a deposit required to confirm services? What is included, tables, chairs, linens, etc.? Baton Rouge, Louisiana has sophisticated luxury spaces from hotels, Botanical Gardens, Plantations, Museums and more.  If you find a location that gives you and your partner the warm and fuzzies, don’t hesitate. Lock it down before someone else does! Here at Bacon and Fig Events, nothing is too big or small!

How far Out Should you Book a Caterer?

Book a caterer ASAP! One, you need to give yourself ample time to decide on dishes and serving style. Bacon & Fig Events right here in Baton Rouge are a big help in walking you through this process. Then, of course, there are dietary considerations that you'll have to account for, such as vegetarian dishes and gluten-free options. Does your caterer have a catering manager that will be your day of coordinator? How many changes does your caterer allow to the menu before it’s finalized? Do they offer a tasting? Please keep in mind that prices are subject to change due to seasonality and availability.

How Far Out Should You Book your Wedding Band/DJ?

At Bacon & Fig Events, we highly suggest booking your wedding band/DJ soon after your engagement. Music is one of the most important aspects of your ceremony and reception, and it’s never too early to start the decision-making process! We suggest booking your band/DJ 6 - 8 months before your wedding date.

Do I Need a Wedding Professional in 2023?

Our simple answer to this question is: YES! Wedding professionals help strategize and arrange your wedding day down to the smallest of details. A wedding planner has a much more in-depth role than a Day of Coordinator. A wedding planner is usually full service from start to finish, but a Day of Coordinator usually steps in about a month before the wedding.
